My life changed after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad in 2012. I was in my third year of college and tired of not being able to trips with my friends. I was living paycheck to paycheck, working two jobs, had 20K in credit card debt, and simply didn’t have the money to travel.
After reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad I started to understand the value of saving and the value of an experience. I traded unnecessary shopping for savings and experiences.
With the money I saved, I took a portion and paid for a trip to the Dominican Republic. After this trip, I was hooked. As a reward to my better spending habits, I started traveling once a year.
Along the way, I completely paid off my debt and discovered travel hacking. Now, I combine my passion for savings with my passion for travel allowing me to travel more and spend less.
Travel is possible, travel doesn’t have to be expensive, travel is liberating.
I’m a full time web developer and travel about five to six times a year. On my blog instagram page, I record all of journeys I’ve made. In addition, I keep receipts for all of my trips, so reach out if you need help getting started! I’m always willing to answer questions.
